Here we go again!

Three days to go before the #WanderingDorks head out on the road again. This time we are not conquering the wild west we will be taking a tour of several east coast National Parks.

I currently am sitting here in the middle of a torrential rain storm at home going please please go away by this weekend and the next 10 days or so . . the Porg says my lack of faith is disturbing.

Well as this is a preview of what is to come lets get right down to the bare bolts why don't we. Friday I will be picking up the latest adventure mobile from Richmond International Airport. Will be hoping that I can manage to snag a decent size SUV off the Emeral Aisle. Four trips so far and I have managed to grab something nice at three different airports. I can only hope this one comes in for a win.

Saturday we will head west into the great state of West Virginia. Home of Fallout 76 and the Mothman for those dorks reading along. For those other normal folk we will be visiting time permits a super old Humpback Covered Bridge. One of the few remaining in the country.  Making a stop and wandering around The Greenbriar in White Sulphur Springs WV and then ending the day at New River Gorge National Park.

I plan on being there all day Sunday for an awesome bike ride and doing hikes when I can Saturday and Sunday. On our way out the team and I will be hitting the Mothman Statue and probably the museum if I make good time. The day should end with us outside of Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky.

Our next stop on the tour will be outside of Mammoth Cave KY. Plans there include a tour for the first half the day in the caverns and then im going to take a bike ride on the old rail path in the afternoon.

From Kentucky(my 47 of 50 states visited) I will head to Tennessee where I will be staying in Cades Cove inside Great Smokies National Park for the evening.  The plan is to try and get to the Cove with a good half day left so I can ride the  loop. On Wednesdays cars are not allowed. So should be fun.

The next day we will head out for another part of the park for some normal hiking. Possibly even do some riding on the Cove early morning if looks nice.

From GSNP we shall head off to Ashville NC where we will be staying at a KOA and be visiting the Biltmore. House tour and biking the grounds are on tap.

Then its off to Congaree National Park outside of Columbia SC.  Factoid here, the last time I was in Columbia SC I was an 18 year old recently graduated high school senior. I was enjoying the beautiful scenery of Tank Hill's 70's era barracks(maybe even older) as fresh faced Army recruit going through my Basic and Advanced Training.  Oh the joy.

A full day in Congree is on tap before heading back north through North Carolina to home base.

So that there is the plan. Which means in another 14 days odds are what I said above probably will not have come to pass. See you along the road.

Some pics of the prep...
