Philadelphia, Sleepy Hollow and Stamford
Day 2 in the books and holy cow were we all over the place. What a day. Felt like we traveled forever but things were so close that it was not as bad as I thought. Before we even checked out of our AirBNB there was breakfast oh glorious breakfast. This was one of several places recommended by our AirBNB host Valarie. It was just a short walk from our stay and it was simply amazing. I can not even begin to tell you how amazing it was. I had Toto's Special French Toast. It is a Caramelized French toast served with a cinnamon brown sugar peach whipped mascarpone, fresh blueberries, vanilla syrup and an oatmeal crumble topping and it was glorious beyond measures.
But hey before we made it to breakfast we wandered around Swan Memorial Fountain caught some Pokemon and my girls got to see some of Philly's homeless. I always feel bad when we come across these folk. So many stories being wasted. One has to wonder where they could go or maybe where they came from. Sad.
So, then a quick hike back to Sabrina's and the pictures tell you all you need to know. It was outstanding.
We then checked out of our AirBnb and I tried to make a quick stop at the Thinker but could not find parking. BUT Oh hell yeah I stopped in the not really parking spot in front of the Philly Museum of Art. You know the Rocky Steps! I would like to point it out that throughout my stay in Philadelphia I was rocking my Washington Capitals Stanley Cup Champions hat. Yeah dawg.
Okay so from Philly it was up the NJ-NY turnpike thing of hell. Went fast till we got outside of NYC. From there we were just trying to make it over to Sleepy Hollow. There were several things around the area that looked interesting but of course we went to the cemetery.
I mean who wouldn't want to go there. Sleepy Hollow is home to many famous graves including Rockefeller, Carnegie and of course Washington Irving. Unfortunately for us the rain came crashing down and we couldn't make it to see Irvings as it would have been a foot walk. Oh well. One final takeaway from the cemetery. The Bronze Lady (https://the-line-up.com/the-bronze-lady-of-sleepy-hollow). Watching over the mausoleum of Civil War General Samuel Thomas. Feel free to read their very well written up article about it. And yes. . i may have knocked three times and even looked in the whole. . i mean .. there is photographic proof. I will not admit if I had bad dream.
From there we made a stop in Stamford CT. After checking in at the AirBNB we made it to the WWE Headquarters where one very happy WWE fan took some pictures. In closing todays adventures we ate in Stamford downtown (bad choice) but then as we left there was giant Marilyn Monroe statue. I still do not know why it was there.
