Day 11 - Guadalupe Mountains National Park and Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Today was an eventful day for just changes. First off my breakfast place was closed and found a new one. Cell towers in different time zones kept messing with my watch and phone and got me all confused. In the end I made it to the places and got stuff done. Also the Cafe at the "Inn" I was staying at out side Carlsbad Caverns was closed and also closed Monday. So dinner and breakfast plans shot. They have a grocery store, which is pretty much a KOA store at the maximum. Well I ate cheap.

Okay first stuff I did was head to Guadalupe Mountain and took the Smith Spring Trail to Manzanita Spring trail. It was a short loop, 2.3 miles. I found the peaceful Smith Spring and a blue spiney lizard.

After that hike I made it over to Carlsbad Caverns. I took the  natural entrance in, no elevator down. So grand total about 2 1/5 miles I think. Deep into the darkness I went. I will be honest I took a ton of pictures but not all came out. So I will post a few of my favorites
