Day 9 - Saguaro West National Park
Right from the beginning , yes this was a stupid decision. Was not really smart. It was 100 degrees in Saguaro National Park.
I even asked the Park Ranger for safe trails. I did them all. Then there was that moment. I did the stupid. The trail I knew was too long in the heat but I had packed up four Gatorade and an entire camelback full of water. The hike ended up being over five miles. As an amateur photographer and lover of parks this was worth it.
Not going to tell much here. I saw the cave and thought maybe a snake or lizard was in there and was getting my camera ready. Then it moved.
So I took pictures and stood still making camera noises because of course. Now for the record I did not know anything about bobcats till I started reading this. I'll be honest part pf me was like uhh this could be bad. Luckily they are not that aggressive towards humans.
Okay so yes I did survive and did walk way too much. I did not see a lot of other critters other and some birds and small whiptails. I did try and get this one bird a few times. I did see several jackrabbits but they skedaddled away super fast before I could get a picture.
So I am going to put up some more of my favorite pictures but yea those ones above made every decision I made worth it. I will leave it at that for today
