Day 15 Another day on the Hi-Line on the way to Medora

Woke up to a crazy phone call from back home but everything was ok if a bit rattled. No one was hurt but did shake me a bit. Now it was time to get some coffee and a muffin before beginning the drive east. My goal was to make it to a town with an open breakfast place.

In the crown jewel of the Hi-Lin Havre my wish came true just as I needed to get my first gas fill up for the day. I had a great easy meal at Char's Family Diner. My server was the owner Char herself and in the back cooking I am pretty sure was her mom. It was perfect. And a great price!

From there I continued my long trek across Montana. It really is amazingly pretty Big Sky country. Massive cattle farms and wheat farms stretch forever with the crystal blue sky giving it a wonderful backdrop. I got to see this for over seven hours. But along the way I also saw a mix of new and old towns. Some dying some still alive and well.

There were little things like the Sleeping Buffalo Rock story that I came across as I drove.

And then there was this one last thing before I made it to Medora. The wildlife of Montana. Some things you cant make up.

I avoided the "wild" life and made it to Medora. I was a bit taken back by my room. I got a full 4 bed hostel room to myself for the night. I guess they try and rent them out as AirBNB during the off season. I do not know. The couple and book store upstairs were pretty cool though. All old Western style books. Think Louis Lamour and or books about the west.

I managed to get dinner, an elk burger at Little Missouri Saloon which had ONE guy running the bar and a packed dining room. It was impressive and the food was good.

Another day done
