Day 5 Arches and Canyonlands
Because I am behind on giving you guys insights into my trip I am going to make day 5 be one post even though there was a lot of stuff going on.
It was an early morning and honestly it was my worst night of sleep. Saturday was a tough day. Headed to Utes Coffee Shop. Which really looked like a truck stop diner and it was perfect. Was what i needed to get going and on the road. The sun wasnt even up and I was on the road to Arches.
I knew the plan at Arches. I skipped the Visitor Center till I was leaving and drove STRAIGHT to Delicate Arch trailhead. It is not for the faint of heart. It is very doable by anybody. But those with any kind of breathing problems or other issues. Well maybe it would be rough. Once you got to the top the wind kicked in and it was crazy. A bunch of idiot Canadians were doing the jump under the arch. I got as close as I wanted too...
After a stop at the Visitor Center it was onward to Canyonlands. A new park for me and it has some stunning vistas. Wow was I blown away. I mean I suppose I should have known from a name like Canyonlands but hey...

I also included some shots of Wolfe Ranch and some Ute Rock Art.
By the way, on the way back down from Delicate Arch it rained and I didnt have my jacket. I didnt even think to put it in my pack was a really dumb move. But hey I got to cross off the Delicate Arch Hike from my bucket list.
Next up I did the Windows Trail and Primitive Trail. Most people just go up to the front of them and take some pictures. But if you go around back on the primitive trail... you can get both!
I kept thinking of that movie everytime I saw something like this.
At Canyonlands I did the White Rim Overlook Trail and the Grand View Point Trail. I hate to admit stuff but on the way back on the Grand View Point Trail I walked right off the trail and sort of just stumbled back on to it...
This was the rock i was sitting on.
After that great day it was on to Green River KOA for a nice easy setup while three 2 legged animals ran around making lots of noise why their owners ignored them. But eventually they were put in their cages. I did get a nice dinner at Tamarisk, I had the San Rafeal Swell, a grilled chicken breast topped with many many slices of avocado, swiss cheese, tomato and slathered in Hollandaise Sauce. For dinner and Sweet Tamales for dessert.
