Day 6 Capital Reef and Bryce Canyon National Park
Green River KOA was one of the best sleeps so far. Mostly because I slept in and went to breakfast at seven instead of getting up super early. I mean I was still up by 6 to tear down the tent and go shower but no alarm at 530.
Today was another new park in Capital Reef and an old friend in Bryce Canyon. The original plan was to to do two hikes in Capital Reef but things changed and I glad I did. I cut out a longer hike that would have not gotten me to Zion Ponderosa Ranch till 7 and I am pretty sure things would not have gone as smooht this evening if I had. Laundry and dinner done and I may even finish this blog before I pass out.
So Capital Reef is pretty cool. It is over 60 miles long, the park that is, but it very rarely goes more than six miles across. It is a vast desert landscape dotted with fruit orchards. It is strange but yes fruit orchards. I did the Hickman Natural Bridge trail before hitting the visitor center and boy was this park packed. And lots of slow hikers. And not a lot of space for me to move around.

As we move on i have some side notes about Utah. There was a portion of I70 that goes for 100 miles and it says no services. I wonder is that like no towns and nothing for 100 miles?
There is a tiny theater in the town of Bicknell. It had one screen and it was showing IT Chapter Two, my daughter Erin would be thrilled.
Who gets stuck with the jobs of postman and runs these small post offices in these rural towns. All along highway 24 in Utah were these small rural towns and they all had one radio station and it was country. My co worker Sarah would be thrilled. I had to listen to it all day or there would be nothing.
In Bryce Canyon on my hike I saw a couple I had helped in Canyonlands. I am not sure they remembered me but I did say hello.
I also saw a girl leave her boyfriend saying nope not going this way not walking anywhere close to the cliffs again!
Now Bryce Canyon. I did the Rainbow Point Yovimpa Point Bristlecone loop combo as well as stopped at several view points. Ill drop a few here but remember videos and pictures usually end on my instagram. Oh and let me tell you about these crows at Ponderosa Point. They just sat there talking. It was the strangest thing ever.
